Messi: I don't consider myself the best, I'm just another player

For many people, especially the Barcelona fans believe Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time, the 'GOAT', but the player himself remains humble.

The Barcelona forward has explained how he feels when people consider him as the greatest player of all time and he says he tries to remember that every player is equal at kick-off.

"I don't consider myself the best, I think I am just another player," he said in an interview with Paper Magazine.

"On the field, we are all the same when the game begins."

As part of the interview, the magazine got Messi to pose with goats and he discussed his lifelong love for animals.

"I am a big fan of animals," he revealed.

"I grew up with them and they have taught me many things.

"Now we have our dog Hulk, who really is part of the family, we always include him.

"Our children learn so much from Hulk.

"The love shown between him and the kids and the kids and him is constant."

Looking ahead to the World Cup, the forward spoke of how their country are not one of the very favourites.

"We still have to make ourselves stronger as a team to be in the running to win and be at the same level as other teams like France, Germany, Brazil or Spain," he stated.

"But we have a good group of players and the Argentine team is always going to be a candidate to win, it doesn't matter how we get there.

"We always aim to win and we will try to go slowly but strongly to advance in the competition."

Argentina find themselves in a group with Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria, which he believe Iceland are of coordinated team player, while Croatia has great midfielders and Nigeria are strong team who always give them hard time.
