The Klassicz team had the opportunity to have an upclose interview with the budding star and he gave us some excerpts of his works and an exclusive interview on his personal life and Music

What's your name?

MajorHeyjay: My name is Ajogwu Boluwatife Vincent

How did you coin your stage name?

MajorHeyJay: My stage name Major Heyjay was inspired by my daddy,he was in the military and was a major when he passed away so I decided to use that to always remember him and as a motivation for me  and the heyjay are the first two alphabets of my surname

What genre of music do you do?

MajorHeyJay: Well I'm very versatile with my music ,I believe music is a lifestyle and you can cage a lifestyle it's spontaneous , but I do a mixture of everything ,I like to call my genre Afro-mix cuz it's a mixture of different tunes but still African

What's your childhood dream?

MajorHeyJay: My childhood dream,be coming a very big and successful artiste and I really wanna do alot for my grandma and mum ,my family in general

Which schools did you attend?

MajorHeyJay: My primary school was at air force primary school (kainji,Niger state) and my secondary school was at Nepa secondary school also at kainji ,Niger state and currently I'm in university of ilorin , 300L studying computer science

What's your most memorable moment?

MajorHeyJay: My most memorable moment ,should be when I contested in  unilorin got talent season 2 ,it was a movie!!

Who are your greatest music influences?

MajorHeyJay: My greatest music influences ,basically when I take iceprince as a very big mentor and he inspired me believing in myself and starting this whole music career ,but I listen to anyone that sounds good ,that's what helps my versatility,but basically I like wizkid ,burna boy and nasty c a lot

What's your most difficult moment as a musician?

MajorHeyJay: My most difficult moment as a musician,well for me I have never had a difficult moment because music is something I'm very passionate about So even the stress and wahala that comes with it is just normal.to me and I take it all with joy

Who is your mentor?

MajorHeyJay: My mentor well ,wizkid ayo balogun...I take him as my mentor  right now,I really admire him and aspire to be more than him very soon

Who do you want to work with?

MajorHeyJay: I want to work with so many people, I want to work with wizkid, davido ,vector , phenom,burna boy ,nasty c ,jason derulo,major lazer,iceprince, tiwa savage,meek mill just to mention a few

What do you do during your leisure time?

MajorHeyJay: During my leisure time I play video games,I'm a gamer and I play lots of video games ,also like to chill and surf the Internet,comedy is also a soft spot

How do you cope with female fans ?

MajorHeyJay: Well...the female fans ,they are the ones that spice up the game, and they make everyrhing cool,I like them alot and I grew up with ladies all around so coping with the ladies isn't a problem 😊

Where do you see yourself in 5years?

MajorHeyJay: 5 years,id probably have won lots of headies,MAMA,AND Mobo awards by then,😊 I see myself as one of the top artistes in Nigeria and Africa as  whole ,I see myself taking afro-rap to the next level worldwide,and also id be very successful internationally by God's grace
